RELEASE OF NEW SELF-TITLED ALBUM

RELEASE OF NEW SELF-TITLED ALBUM

January 19, 2014

With the release of their 7th album, The Motet once again showcase their commitment to pushing the sonic envelope, while remaining dedicated to the musical traditions that have defined their sound. The new album, which is self-titled, boldly states that this is the band The Motet has strived to become. The whole has become greater than the sum of it’s parts with each member of the band contributing to the writing and arranging of the songs, telling a unified story through syncopated rhythms and melodies. If you’ve loved The Motet for years or are just tuning in, listen up, you haven’t heard The Motet like this and you won’t be disappointed.

LISTEN The Motet Announces Album Release Party, The Fillmore 1.25.14

Album Release Party at The Fillmore Denver

The Motet will be hosting their official CD Release Party at The Fillmore Auditorium on January 25, 2014. Celebrating their first album in four years, they have planned an exciting night of funk and psychedelic improvisation. To embellish their line-up they are bringing in some incredible musicians to perform, including Jason Hann (SCI & EOTO)on percussion. They will also be featuring two of their favorite national acts: Snarky Puppy and Orgone, as well as electro-funk genius DJ Mikey Thunder.

Snarky Puppy is one of the fastest rising groups on the international circuit, and Orgone‘s brand of classic funk has become a recent favorite on the Colorado scene. With so many fantastic musicians in one venue, you can expect some amazing collaborations between all of these groups throughout the night. In addition, they plan to add to the Fillmore‘s already expansive lighting setup to create an unforgettable evening of music AND visuals. This is going to be a historic night for The Motet at one of Colorado’s premier venues not to be missed!!

A big thank you to Marquee Magazine for the official announcement and tickets go on sale Friday, November 15 at Noon HERE

The Motet is also thrilled to re-release the official video for the song ’123′, filmed to a capacity crowd at the theFillmore Denver last April. As part of their forthcoming album, ’123′ is an ode to Coloradans and exalts their devotion to spreading their fun and funky sound across the nation. This will be the first album by The Motet to be completely composed by the entire band. Each member has contributed equally to the writing process making this the band’s most focused and inclusive CD yet.
